Food Safety Inspection Results Online

State Department of Health launched a new website that publishes food safety inspection results online.

Consumers can find the results of state food inspections of restaurants and food service organizations performed on Oahu.  The results  are highly informative, giving details of current status, any violations, resolutions to violations and complete Inspection Report. These provide helpful references to Big Island operators, as the inspections extend to neighbor islands.

The website is available here: http://hi.healthinspections.us/hawaii/

Currently, 80% of  Oahu inspections (approximately 7000) are posted, but will be expanded to include all islands by the end of the year.  The manager of the program, Peter Oshiro, believes the online access to the reports allows consumers to make more informed choices. Another goal of the program is to encourage food service organizations to achieve better food safety and sanitation practices.
